Jurgen Klopp has revealed he was keen on bringing in Antony as a replacement for Mohamed Salah, with the Brazilian winger eventually moving to Manchester United instead.

Liverpool fans will certainly be glad that a formal swoop for Antony was never approved. While Salah has maintained his world-class standards and further established himself as an Anfield hero over the last two-and-a-half seasons, Antony has managed to record just 17 goal contributions in 87 appearances for the Red Devils, and is no longer a first-team regular.
